We are proud to announce that the Zero Waste Project, led by Luu Tien Minh Nghia (12I), has officially been selected as a global finalist in the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2026 – Global High School category!
Representing True North International School (TNIS) and Vietnam, Nghia and his team have developed an innovative initiative applying scientific agricultural methods such as hydroponics and aquaponics to create a sustainable circular food system. The project aims to reduce food waste, encourage environmental awareness, and inspire meaningful sustainability actions within and beyond the TNIS community.
We are incredibly proud of Nghia’s leadership and vision in driving sustainable change. The final award ceremony will be held on January 13, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, with a grand prize of USD 150,000. Let’s send our best wishes to Nghia and the Zero Waste team — may your dedication and innovation shine bright in the finals!
