Lưu Tiến Minh Nghĩa – 10 perfect 5s, 1 near-perfect, and an unwavering pursuit of mastery
Lưu Tiến Minh Nghĩa (Class of 2025) has completed 11 AP courses — and achieved a perfect score of 5 in 10 of them. His only non-perfect score? A 4 in AP English Language and Composition — a course known for its exceptionally high difficulty. According to College Board statistics, only 13% of students worldwide receive a score of 5 in this subject. Nghĩa’s 4, therefore, is not a weakness, but a testament to his analytical and linguistic strength in one of the most rigorous exams available.
Nghĩa’s flawless 5s in subjects such as AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Psychology, and AP Seminar reflect not only his academic resilience, but also the strength of the AP program at TNIS — designed to empower students to thrive. Nghĩa’s results are not an accident; they are the product of focused effort and an environment that challenges students to push their boundaries every day.

Phan Ngọc Vy – Excellence, self-discipline, and the courage to self-study
Also from the Class of 2025, Phan Ngọc Vy has completed 11 AP subjects, scoring a perfect 5 in 10 — with a 4 in AP Environmental Science, the only exam she prepared for independently, without formal instruction. That alone is remarkable. Her ability to self-study a university-level course and achieve such a high score demonstrates not only Vy’s academic capacity but also her self-discipline, time management, and passion for learning.
Reflecting on her AP experience, Vy shared:
“The expansive AP curriculum enabled me to satisfy my drive for academic exploration, as I navigate my interdisciplinary interests. Although the cramming periods were intense, incessant support from my AP teachers undoubtedly helped me to achieve the high scores. In the TNIS environment, where I have opportunities to interact with highly motivated students, I'm more inspired to work even harder on my AP subjects.”
Vy’s journey underscores the power of a school that nurtures not only achievement but autonomy. Her story proves that with the right environment, students don’t just learn — they lead.

Ngô Gia Nghĩa – 10 APs, 10 perfect 5s, and a path toward the AP Capstone Diploma
Not many students achieve perfect scores in all 10 AP courses they take — but Ngô Gia Nghĩa (Class of 2025) has done just that. Among his impressive list of subjects is AP Seminar, the foundational course of the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma Program, offered in full at TNIS.
With a perfect 5 in AP Seminar, Gia Nghĩa is well on track to earn the AP Capstone Diploma, an internationally recognized academic distinction that highlights advanced research, writing, and presentation skills. At TNIS, both AP Seminar and AP Research are taught in person by experienced, College Board-certified instructors — a unique offering that only a few schools in Vietnam can provide.
The Capstone track is rigorous and rare. Students who pursue it demonstrate deep academic maturity and a readiness for university-level inquiry. Nghĩa’s consistent top scores — paired with his pursuit of the Capstone — position him as a role model not only for TNISers but for driven learners nationwide.

A Common Thread: Determination, Excellence, and a School that Champions Both
Each of these students has a unique story — yet they are all bound by a shared commitment to excellence, and a school that never stops believing in what its students can achieve. Their results affirm the strength of TNIS’s AP program — where high expectations are matched with high levels of support, and where success is never left to chance.
We congratulate Minh Nghĩa, Ngọc Vy, and Gia Nghĩa for setting new benchmarks in academic achievement at TNIS. Your passion, grit, and intellect are a shining example of what it means to discover — and follow — your True North.
