1. What is WASC?
WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) is one of the six largest accrediting agencies in the United States. It is responsible for ensuring the quality of education for schools from kindergarten through university in the Western United States and international schools. Founded in 1962, WASC has built its reputation over decades with rigorous, transparent, and fair evaluation standards.
2. The Role of WASC in the American Education System
WASC plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of education. By conducting regular accreditation visits, WASC helps ensure that schools meet high standards in teaching, facilities, administration, and the holistic development of students. Schools that achieve WASC accreditation are recognized as reliable, high-quality educational institutions, not just in the United States but globally.
3. The Significance of WASC in Education
Accreditation from WASC is a significant milestone for any school because it reflects not only the quality of education but also the school’s commitment to the comprehensive development of its students. For parents and students, choosing a school accredited by WASC means choosing a reputable educational path that guarantees a promising future.
At TNIS, we are proud to be WASC-accredited and continually strive to provide the best learning environment for our students!

The AP (Advanced Placement) program is a set of advanced courses with a difficulty level equivalent to first-year university level, designed for high school students. This program allows students to earn college credits while still in high school. AP courses and exams are widely offered in high schools and universities across the United States and are recognized by many universities worldwide.
Over the past few years we have tracked shifting policy language surrounding the use of AP scores in the college admissions process. We will continue to track these policies moving forward as we expect the role of AP scores in admissions to continue to evolve.
