The Leadership Seminars, one of the most prestigious academic programs for high school students worldwide, boasts an acceptance rate of only 7%. As a participant, Vy will engage in thought-provoking discussions with leading professors, collaborate with other talented students, and delve into the pressing environmental issues from the perspectives of science, policy, and ethics. This remarkable achievement is not only a milestone in Vy’s academic journey but also a powerful demonstration of a TNIS student excelling on the international stage.
Earning a place in such a competitive program requires an exceptional academic foundation, which Vy has meticulously built over the years. With an outstanding SAT superscore of 1570/1600, an AP Scholar Distinction, and a strong academic portfolio covering both STEM and Social Sciences (Seminar, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Biology, Language & Composition, Calculus BC), Vy exemplifies TNIS’s core value of Academic Rigor. She has also been recognized multiple times as Student of the Month and currently serves as the Vice President of TNIS Student Government Organization (SGO), proving her remarkable leadership skills beyond academics.
Yet, behind these impressive academic accomplishments, Vy is also a passionate community leader, dedicating herself to projects that create a lasting impact on underprivileged communities. She is not just a participant but a driving force, leading and initiating impactful projects in education, environmental sustainability, and healthcare.
INKSPIRE – SPREADING KNOWLEDGE AND HUMANITY
As the co-founder of INKSPIRE, Vy has spearheaded several meaningful initiatives aimed at providing educational opportunities and emotional support to those in need. From English classes for pediatric patients at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, to an International Women’s Day awareness session in collaboration with Hope Service, and the fundraising concert "Âm Vang – Reminiscence", INKSPIRE has been a bridge for young people to connect, learn, and give back to the community. More than just a platform for learning, INKSPIRE fosters a sense of social responsibility and the power of collective action.
VEGAN COOKING TOUR – PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE NUTRITION
With a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, Vy initiated the Vegan Cooking Tour, a hands-on educational experience that combines culinary arts and eco-conscious living. Partnering with Peace Vegan School and Earthly Garden, this initiative introduced students within and beyond TNIS to the benefits of plant-based diets, raising awareness about health and environmental conservation through mindful food choices.
THE FIRST HIGH SCHOOL INTERN AT VINUNI – EXPLORING GENOMICS AND MEDICAL RESEARCH
Through a recommendation from Dr. Objoon at VinUni College of Health Sciences, Vy became the first high school student to intern at VinUni, marking a significant step in her journey toward medical research.
During her time at the Genomics Unit of Vinmec Times City Hospital, Vy had the opportunity to:
🔬 Study cutting-edge genetic sequencing technologies and their applications in diagnostic medicine.
🔬 Engage in specialized training sessions on DNA analysis techniques.
🔬 Observe real-world genetic testing procedures, from sample collection to data interpretation.
This experience not only allowed Vy to explore the latest advancements in medical science but also deepened her understanding of the precision and ethical responsibility required in healthcare.
With relentless dedication to both academic excellence and social impact, Phan Ngoc Vy embodies the spirit of a Global Citizen and Character Development—the core values that TNIS continuously cultivates. The road ahead is filled with boundless opportunities, and we look forward to seeing Vy continue to inspire, lead, and create meaningful change in the world!
