Position Title: Math Teaching Assistant
Work Location: True North School – Lot TH-03, Mo Lao urban area, Ha Dong, Hanoi

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Teaching Assistant for Math (TA Math) provides direct classroom management, logistical preparation, and instructional support during Math lessons. This hands-on role focuses on preparing teaching materials, assisting with curriculum plans, and delivering targeted student interventions—including one-on-one and small-group support. Working closely on the ground with the Math Lead Teacher, the ideal candidate ensures student safety, tracks academic progress, and actively contributes to school events and operational success.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Support Math Teacher/Math Lead Teacher in teaching, managing, and taking care of students to ensure their learning effectiveness and safety.
- Directly teach assigned Math classes and deliver lessons independently as allocated by the Principal.
- Support Math Teacher/Math Lead Teacher in preparing learning and teaching materials, teaching schedule/plans for students with Math subjects.
- Assist Teachers with curriculum planning and development.
- Provide direct support to students, including pull-out groups, classroom collaborations, and one-on-one interventions if and as appropriate.
- Provide students with supports and interventions and report back to the Academic Team the academic progress of students in Math.
- Support and participate in school’s activities, events, and projects.
- Other tasks as assigned by Line Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a relevant subject area.
- Prior experience as a Math Tutor or Math Teaching Assistant is a plus.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers and students.
- Creative and supportive approach to assisting students in learning Mathematics.
- Good understanding of both the US mathematics curriculum and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) mathematics curriculum is a plus.
